Lynne Mullis, MSW, LCSW
I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker and obtained my MSW from Marywood University in 1977. I believe in a relational approach to understanding individual problems. This approach evaluates the person in the environment and is trauma based and Recovery oriented. In 1980 I became certified by AAMFT as a Marriage and Family Therapist. In 1988 I became certified as a Board Certified Diplomat in Clinical Social work. I am a strong client advocate for children, adolescents and adults who experience a wide variety of emotional problems.
Throughout my career I have dedicated myself to working extensively with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and mental illnesses. I believe it is important to assist the person and their families negotiate the educational, legal and social systems as well as improving their communication and relationships. For over 15 years I provided child custody evaluations, mediation and therapy for the legal system, primarily in Berks County but also in surrounding counties.
In 1990, for my own mental health and growth, I studied at the Himalayan Institute located in the Poconos and completed their Self transformation program which uses a mindfulness and yogic philosophy. I was able to utilize this approach in my practice and for the past thirteen years when I developed and ran a “Recovery through Nature Program” working with adults who have co-occurring and chronic mental illnesses. I am experienced in leading groups on Trauma, Family therapy and hands on nature groups.
Lynne has experience with children ages 5 and over, teens, and adults in a variety of settings. She provides individual, marriage, and/or family therapy.
