I was born and raised in a small town 45 minutes east of Pittsburgh, PA.  In 1993, I received a Bachelor’s of Art in Studio Art and a Minor in Psychology from Westminster College. By 1997, I had moved to the Reading area and received my Master’s in Community and Clinical Counseling from Eastern College. Over the next several years, I worked in a variety of settings helping children and their families in difficult

In 2001, my family and I moved to Lititz. I worked as an outpatient therapist for Shepard’s Touch Counseling and then as an outpatient therapist for T.W. Ponessa, specializing in children and families. In 2005, I took the position as a clinical therapist at the Children’s Home of Reading in their Acute Partial Program for Children 5 to 12 years of age. In the next year, I became the Director for the Acute Partial Program at CHOR and spent the next six years working with family and children in crisis. 

In 2008, I began my pursuit of a PhD in Clinical Counseling through Walden University.  In 2011, I began a internship with Center For Neurobehavioral in Lancaster and worked for New Horizons Counseling as an outpatient therapist. In 2013, I began her private practice and continues this part-time in Ephrata, PA. I am currently working on my dissertation on “Childrearing Grandchildren with Mild Autistic Spectrum Disorder: Grandparent Perceived Stress and Health Outcomes”.  I started with Emotional Wellness in August 2016.
